Roseanne is Revolted by James Gunn Supporters

Roseanne Barr went Twitter late Monday to blast the service James Gunn has obtained after being dropped by Disney. The former ABC network celebrity, who was fired from"Roseanne" in May, said she was"disgusted" by the double standard.

"I'm disgusted to read all the service for James Gunn's pedophile jokes-as the same people affirmed blacklisting me to get a joke they did not even know," she said.

Gunn was dropped out of his job as director of the"Guardians of the Galaxy" franchise following a right-wing campaign to unearth old tweets of his went viral. A number of the tweets -- he deleted thousands -- related to pedophilia. "I enjoy when small boys touch me in my idiotic place," read one. Gunn explained that they were jokes.

Since that time, Gunn's industry colleagues, including"Guardians of the Galaxy" stars Chris Pratt and Dave Bautista, have expressed their support. An online petition to reinstate Gunn into his role as manager of this franchise now has over 250,000 signatures.

The campaign was started by right-wing provocateur Mike Cernovich, with a history of targeting liberal Hollywood and media characters, and now leads a tiny army of Twitter users that have made it their mission to dig through old tweets to come across inappropriate comments. Their sleuthing also contributed to USA Today dropping columnist Cheri Jacobus and forced"Rick and Morty" co-creator Dan Harmon to apologize to an old sketch that comprised the simulated rape of a baby.

Roseanne's case has increasingly been given a second look by conservatives who mostly abandoned her after she tweeted that former Obama White House aide Valerie Jarrett was if the"Muslim brotherhood & Planet of the apes had a baby" Like Gunn, Roseanne has insisted that her comment was also a"joke" and that she did not even realize Jarrett was African-American.

Barr has been dropped out of her hit series within hours following TheWrap first broke the story. While many in Hollywood have rallied about Gunn, Roseanne's departure was largely met with cheers.
